The design intention balances traditional proportions with contemporary detailing, creating a holistic environment between the new and old. The dwellings are appended to the curtilage wall, similar to the historic outbuildings, with lean-to structures hidden from street view. The gable ends are expressed along the curtilage wall to provide a considered visual rhythm along Farmhill Road.
